Ingredients to Make Potato Skins in Air Fryer

Potato Skins in Air Frye

First you need all the ingredients you need to make potato skins. You need almost 20 red potatoes and a half cup of bacon bits. You also need shredded cheddar cheese and butter. These are all necessary ingredients for this recipe. However, you should have sour cream and green onions as well but they are totally optional. 

First you need to boil small potatoes. You can boil them in a regular pot of hot water or in air fryer. They should take around 5 minutes to get boiled. 

Once they are boiled let them cool down for sometime. Then scoop out the inside of potatoes and gather the material inside a bowl. 

Put your hollow potatoes on a paper sheet. 

Now mix rest of the ingredients with potatoes material you just scooped out. Mix them well until they make a nice mixture. This should look something like the image below.

Now that your mixture is ready it is time to start filling the potatoes with this mixture. 

Once all your potatoes filling is done it is time to bake them in air fryer. Cook potato skins in air fryer for 5 minutes as per given instructions. 

Garnish freshly baked potatoes skin with sour cream and green onion. Serve hot.

Ingredients

 20 Small Red potatoes
 ½ cup real bacon bits
 ¼ cup Cheddar cheese shredded
 1 tsp Butter
 Sour cream optional
 Green onions optional

Instructions

1

Put 1 cup of water in the bottom of your Instant Pot - or fill a pan with water.

Add potatoes and cook on manual for 5 minutes and quick release. Or if you are using a pot boil until they are fork tender. Let cool until you can touch them.

Preheat your Vortex Air Fryer to Bake to 400°F. Place your rack in the middle position.

Cut potatoes in halves and place on the racks. Use both.

Scoop out the inside of each potato half saving the potato insides in a bowl.

Add cheese, bacon bits & butter to the bowl with the mashed potato insides.

Scoop mixture into potato halves and then place them back on the racks

Please the racks on the two lowest levels in the Air Fryer and cook for 5 minutes. Swap racks after five minutes - move one up and one down (use the top-level to move them)

Remove from the Air Fryer and top with remaining ¼ cup of shredded cheese.

Serve with a dollop of sour cream and green onions.
